Full Job Description

A prominent political organization is looking for experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will lead in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to boost voter participation across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. This is an opportunity to maximize voter turnout while being directly mentored and supervised by seasoned political operatives. Roles/Duties:

  • Visit homes to mobilize and convince swing voters to back the campaign.
  • Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
  • Implement outreach plans to engage specific voter demographics.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
  • Utilize social networks to increase awareness and engagement with the campaign.
  • Analyze polls and data to make informed decisions about campaign strategies.
  • Tailor campaign messages to specific audiences through selective information.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banking, voter registration, and canvassing events.
  • Achieve targeted goals regularly and excel under pressure.
  • Cultivate a solid volunteer team and area insight for GOTV campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Report voter engagement and volunteer recruitment statistics to the Vice Chair regularly.
  • Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
  • Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
  • Work with other candidates, campaign staff, county parties, and organizations to implement a successful Coordinated Campaign.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
  • Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship).
  • Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
  • Must be a strong trainer.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
  • Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team are important.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle. Travel is required.
