Full Job Description

A leading political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will lead in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to increase turnout across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. This is an opportunity to maximize voter turnout while being directly mentored and supervised by seasoned political operatives. Roles/Duties:

  • Organize door-to-door efforts to engage and persuade voters.
  • Execute and manage campaign rallies and canvassing operations.
  • Create and apply strategies for targeted voter outreach.
  • Join forces with campaign volunteers and staff to accomplish goals.
  • Use social platforms to enhance campaign visibility and engagement.
  • Evaluate polls and data for strategic campaign planning.
  • Discriminate information to ensure campaign messaging is tailored to specific audiences.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and management for campaign efforts.
  • Achieve targeted goals regularly and excel under pressure.
  • Build up a strong volunteer base and understanding of the area for Get Out the Vote (GOTV).
  • Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Report voter engagement and volunteer recruitment statistics to the Vice Chair regularly.
  • Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
  • Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
  • Collaborate with candidates, staff, and local parties for a unified campaign effort.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in political campaigns or community organizing is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Able to work both independently and in team settings.
  • Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
  • Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship).
  • Must be fully available in the final two months leading up to the Election.
  • Requires strong training abilities.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for necessary travel.
