Full Job Description

A leading political organization is looking for experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will take the lead in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to increase turnout across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

  • Go door-to-door to mobilize voters and persuade swing voters to support the campaign.
  • Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
  • Implement outreach plans to engage specific voter demographics.
  • Join forces with campaign volunteers and staff to accomplish goals.
  • Leverage social media to boost campaign awareness and participation.
  • Evaluate polls and data for strategic campaign planning.
  • Tailor campaign messages to specific audiences through selective information.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and management for campaign efforts.
  • Meet or exceed set performance metrics consistently while managing stress effectively.
  • Build up a strong volunteer base and understanding of the area for Get Out the Vote (GOTV).
  • Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Submit regular reports on voter outreach and volunteer recruitment to the Vice Chair.
  • Partner with communications, data, and other department heads to fulfill county-wide organizational goals.
  • Organize and gather volunteers for weekly events.
  • Join forces with various political entities to execute a cohesive campaign strategy.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in political campaigns or community organizing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
  • Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
  • Must be fully available in the final two months leading up to the Election.
  • Must be a strong trainer.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
  • Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle. Travel is required.
