Full Job Description

A leading political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will lead in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to boost voter participation across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

  • Organize door-to-door efforts to engage and persuade voters.
  • Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
  • Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to reach specific groups of voters.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
  • Leverage social media to boost campaign awareness and participation.
  • Use data and poll analysis to guide campaign strategy decisions.
  • Tailor campaign messages to specific audiences through selective information.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and management for campaign efforts.
  • Achieve targeted goals regularly and excel under pressure.
  • Develop a robust volunteer network and local knowledge for effective GOTV efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Report voter engagement and volunteer recruitment statistics to the Vice Chair regularly.
  • Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
  • Schedule and recruit volunteers for regular events.
  • Join forces with various political entities to execute a cohesive campaign strategy.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in political campaigns or community organizing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Able to work both independently and in team settings.
  • Passionate about increasing election turnout and making a difference in their community.
  • Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship).
  • Must be fully available in the final two months leading up to the Election.
  • Must be a strong trainer.
  • Willingness to work extended and irregular hours, including weekends and nights, is crucial.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team are important.
