Full Job Description

A prominent political organization is looking for experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to increase turnout across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

  • Organize door-to-door efforts to engage and persuade voters.
  • Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
  • Create and apply strategies for targeted voter outreach.
  • Work with volunteers and other campaign staff to achieve campaign goals.
  • Use social platforms to enhance campaign visibility and engagement.
  • Analyze polls and data to make informed decisions about campaign strategies.
  • Customize campaign messaging for targeted audiences by filtering information.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banking, voter registration, and canvassing events.
  • Must be able to hit metric goals on a weekly and quarterly basis and work well under pressure.
  • Build up a strong volunteer base and understanding of the area for Get Out the Vote (GOTV).
  • Build and sustain trustworthy relationships with county leaders, candidates, and allied organizations.
  • Report voter engagement and volunteer recruitment statistics to the Vice Chair regularly.
  • Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
  • Schedule and recruit volunteers for regular events.
  • Collaborate with candidates, staff, and local parties for a unified campaign effort.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
  • Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
  • Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
  • Must be a strong trainer.
