Full Job Description

A major political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to boost voter participation across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

  • Organize door-to-door efforts to engage and persuade voters.
  • Coordinate and lead campaign events, rallies, and canvassing activities.
  • Create and apply strategies for targeted voter outreach.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
  • Utilize social networks to increase awareness and engagement with the campaign.
  • Analyze polls and data to make informed decisions about campaign strategies.
  • Discriminate information to ensure campaign messaging is tailored to specific audiences.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banking, voter registration, and canvassing events.
  • Meet or exceed set performance metrics consistently while managing stress effectively.
  • Develop a robust volunteer network and local knowledge for effective GOTV efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Vice Chair.
  • Partner with communications, data, and other department heads to fulfill county-wide organizational goals.
  • Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
  • Collaborate with candidates, staff, and local parties for a unified campaign effort.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is necessary.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
  • Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
  • Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
  • Must be a strong trainer.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
  • Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team are important.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for necessary travel.
  • Positive attitude and a commitment and passion to the cause of electing candidates all across the county.
