Full Job Description

A leading political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to boost voter participation across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

• Organize door-to-door efforts to engage and persuade voters.
• Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
• Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to reach specific groups of voters.
• Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
• Leverage social media to boost campaign awareness and participation.
• Analyze polls and data to make informed decisions about campaign strategies.
• Discriminate information to ensure campaign messaging is tailored to specific audiences.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banking, voter registration, and canvassing events.
• Must be able to hit metric goals on a weekly and quarterly basis and work well under pressure.
• Develop a robust volunteer network and local knowledge for effective GOTV efforts.
• Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
• Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Vice Chair.
• Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
• Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
• Work with other candidates, campaign staff, county parties, and organizations to implement a successful Coordinated Campaign.

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Passionate about increasing election turnout and making a difference in their community.
• Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
• Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
• Requires strong training abilities.
• Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
• Access to a reliable vehicle. Travel is required.
• Positive attitude and a commitment and passion to the cause of electing candidates all across the county.
