Full Job Description

A major political organization seeks experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will take the lead in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to increase turnout across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

• Go door-to-door to mobilize voters and persuade swing voters to support the campaign.
• Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
• Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to reach specific groups of voters.
• Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
• Leverage social media to boost campaign awareness and participation.
• Analyze polls and data to make informed decisions about campaign strategies.
• Customize campaign messaging for targeted audiences by filtering information.
• Organize and oversee volunteers for various campaign activities including phone banking and voter registration.
• Must be able to hit metric goals on a weekly and quarterly basis and work well under pressure.
• Cultivate a solid volunteer team and area insight for GOTV campaigns.
• Build and sustain trustworthy relationships with county leaders, candidates, and allied organizations.
• Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Vice Chair.
• Partner with communications, data, and other department heads to fulfill county-wide organizational goals.
• Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
• Work with other candidates, campaign staff, county parties, and organizations to implement a successful Coordinated Campaign.

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is necessary.
• Able to work both independently and in team settings.
• Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
• Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
• Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
• Must be a strong trainer.
• Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
