Full Job Description

A leading political organization is looking for experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to increase turnout across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

  • Visit homes to mobilize and convince swing voters to back the campaign.
  • Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
  • Create and apply strategies for targeted voter outreach.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
  • Leverage social media to boost campaign awareness and participation.
  • Use data and poll analysis to guide campaign strategy decisions.
  • Tailor campaign messages to specific audiences through selective information.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banking, voter registration, and canvassing events.
  • Achieve targeted goals regularly and excel under pressure.
  • Develop a robust volunteer network and local knowledge for effective GOTV efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Report voter engagement and volunteer recruitment statistics to the Vice Chair regularly.
  • Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
  • Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
  • Collaborate with candidates, staff, and local parties for a unified campaign effort.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in political campaigns or community organizing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about increasing election turnout and making a difference in their community.
  • Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
  • Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
  • Must be a strong trainer.
  • Willingness to work extended and irregular hours, including weekends and nights, is crucial.
  • Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for necessary travel.
