Full Job Description

A leading political organization is looking for experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will lead in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to boost voter participation across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

• Visit homes to mobilize and convince swing voters to back the campaign.
• Execute and manage campaign rallies and canvassing operations.
• Create and apply strategies for targeted voter outreach.
• Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
• Leverage social media to boost campaign awareness and participation.
• Analyze polls and data to make informed decisions about campaign strategies.
• Customize campaign messaging for targeted audiences by filtering information.
• Organize and oversee volunteers for various campaign activities including phone banking and voter registration.
• Meet or exceed set performance metrics consistently while managing stress effectively.
• Build up a strong volunteer base and understanding of the area for Get Out the Vote (GOTV).
• Foster strong, trust-based relationships with local officials, candidates, and volunteer groups.
• Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Vice Chair.
• Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
• Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
• Work with other candidates, campaign staff, county parties, and organizations to implement a successful Coordinated Campaign.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in political campaigns or community organizing is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
• Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship).
• Must be fully available in the final two months leading up to the Election.
• Must be a strong trainer.
• Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
• Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team are important.
• Access to a reliable vehicle. Travel is required.
