Full Job Description

A leading political organization is looking for experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to boost voter participation across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. This is an opportunity to maximize voter turnout while being directly mentored and supervised by seasoned political operatives. Roles/Duties:

• Go door-to-door to mobilize voters and persuade swing voters to support the campaign.
• Execute and manage campaign rallies and canvassing operations.
• Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to reach specific groups of voters.
• Join forces with campaign volunteers and staff to accomplish goals.
• Leverage social media to boost campaign awareness and participation.
• Use data and poll analysis to guide campaign strategy decisions.
• Tailor campaign messages to specific audiences through selective information.
• Organize and oversee volunteers for various campaign activities including phone banking and voter registration.
• Achieve targeted goals regularly and excel under pressure.
• Develop a robust volunteer network and local knowledge for effective GOTV efforts.
• Foster strong, trust-based relationships with local officials, candidates, and volunteer groups.
• Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Vice Chair.
• Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
• Organize and gather volunteers for weekly events.
• Join forces with various political entities to execute a cohesive campaign strategy.

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
• Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
• Must be fully available in the final two months leading up to the Election.
• Must be a strong trainer.
• Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
• Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
