Full Job Description

A leading political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to increase turnout across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. This is an opportunity to maximize voter turnout while being directly mentored and supervised by seasoned political operatives. Roles/Duties:

  • Go door-to-door to mobilize voters and persuade swing voters to support the campaign.
  • Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
  • Create and apply strategies for targeted voter outreach.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
  • Utilize social networks to increase awareness and engagement with the campaign.
  • Use data and poll analysis to guide campaign strategy decisions.
  • Tailor campaign messages to specific audiences through selective information.
  • Organize and oversee volunteers for various campaign activities including phone banking and voter registration.
  • Must be able to hit metric goals on a weekly and quarterly basis and work well under pressure.
  • Build up a strong volunteer base and understanding of the area for Get Out the Vote (GOTV).
  • Build and sustain trustworthy relationships with county leaders, candidates, and allied organizations.
  • Submit regular reports on voter outreach and volunteer recruitment to the Vice Chair.
  • Collaborate with key staff and leaders to achieve organizational objectives throughout the county.
  • Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
  • Work with other candidates, campaign staff, county parties, and organizations to implement a successful Coordinated Campaign.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in political campaigns or community organizing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Able to work both independently and in team settings.
  • Passionate about increasing election turnout and making a difference in their community.
  • Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship).
  • Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
  • Must be a strong trainer.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
  • Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team are important.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle. Travel is required.
  • Positive attitude and a commitment and passion to the cause of electing candidates all across the county.
