Full Job Description

A major political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will lead in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to elect conservative candidates across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. This is an opportunity to maximize voter turnout while being directly mentored and supervised by seasoned political operatives. Roles/Duties:

  • Visit homes to mobilize and convince swing voters to back the campaign.
  • Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
  • Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to reach specific groups of voters.
  • Work with volunteers and other campaign staff to achieve campaign goals.
  • Utilize social networks to increase awareness and engagement with the campaign.
  • Use data and poll analysis to guide campaign strategy decisions.
  • Tailor campaign messages to specific audiences through selective information.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and management for campaign efforts.
  • Meet or exceed set performance metrics consistently while managing stress effectively.
  • Develop a robust volunteer network and local knowledge for effective GOTV efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Submit regular reports on voter outreach and volunteer recruitment to the Vice Chair.
  • Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
  • Organize and gather volunteers for weekly events.
  • Work with other candidates, campaign staff, county parties, and organizations to implement a successful Coordinated Campaign.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is necessary.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
  • Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
  • Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
  • Must be a strong trainer.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
  • Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for necessary travel.
  • Positive attitude and a commitment and passion to the cause of electing candidates all across the county.
