Full Job Description

A major political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to increase turnout across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

• Organize door-to-door efforts to engage and persuade voters.
• Organize and execute campaign rallies, canvasses, and door-to-door canvassing efforts.
• Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to reach specific groups of voters.
• Collaborate with volunteers and staff to meet campaign objectives.
• Use social platforms to enhance campaign visibility and engagement.
• Evaluate polls and data for strategic campaign planning.
• Tailor campaign messages to specific audiences through selective information.
• Organize and oversee volunteers for various campaign activities including phone banking and voter registration.
• Must be able to hit metric goals on a weekly and quarterly basis and work well under pressure.
• Build up a strong volunteer base and understanding of the area for Get Out the Vote (GOTV).
• Build and sustain trustworthy relationships with county leaders, candidates, and allied organizations.
• Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Vice Chair.
• Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
• Schedule and recruit volunteers for regular events.
• Collaborate with candidates, staff, and local parties for a unified campaign effort.

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is necessary.
• Able to work both independently and in team settings.
• Passionate about increasing election turnout and making a difference in their community.
• Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship).
• Must be fully available in the final two months leading up to the Election.
• Must be a strong trainer.
• Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team are important.
• Access to a reliable vehicle. Travel is required.
