Full Job Description

A major political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will take the lead in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to increase turnout across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

• Visit homes to mobilize and convince swing voters to back the campaign.
• Execute and manage campaign rallies and canvassing operations.
• Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to reach specific groups of voters.
• Work with volunteers and other campaign staff to achieve campaign goals.
• Use social platforms to enhance campaign visibility and engagement.
• Analyze polls and data to make informed decisions about campaign strategies.
• Discriminate information to ensure campaign messaging is tailored to specific audiences.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banking, voter registration, and canvassing events.
• Achieve targeted goals regularly and excel under pressure.
• Build up a strong volunteer base and understanding of the area for Get Out the Vote (GOTV).
• Build and sustain trustworthy relationships with county leaders, candidates, and allied organizations.
• Submit regular reports on voter outreach and volunteer recruitment to the Vice Chair.
• Collaborate with key staff and leaders to achieve organizational objectives throughout the county.
• Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events.
• Collaborate with candidates, staff, and local parties for a unified campaign effort.

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience working on political campaigns or in community organizing is highly valued.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Able to work both independently and in team settings.
• Passionate about increasing election turnout and making a difference in their community.
• Experience in organizing (whether paid, as a volunteer, or through internships) is preferred.
• Must be fully available in the final two months leading up to the Election.
• Must be a strong trainer.
• Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
• Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a high-speed setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
• Must have a reliable vehicle for necessary travel.
• Positive attitude and a commitment and passion to the cause of electing candidates all across the county.
