Full Job Description

A prominent political organization is in search of experienced Political Canvasser to join their team on a year-round basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible in planning, coordinating, and executing voter outreach and engagement efforts to boost voter participation across the United States. Your responsibilities will include organizing canvasses, phone banks, and high-impact campaign events, as well as going door-to-door in targeted precincts. A key focus will be persuading swing voters and mobilizing the base to build grassroots momentum leading up to the 2024 election cycle. Roles/Duties:

  • Go door-to-door to mobilize voters and persuade swing voters to support the campaign.
  • Execute and manage campaign rallies and canvassing operations.
  • Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to reach specific groups of voters.
  • Work with volunteers and other campaign staff to achieve campaign goals.
  • Utilize social networks to increase awareness and engagement with the campaign.
  • Evaluate polls and data for strategic campaign planning.
  • Discriminate information to ensure campaign messaging is tailored to specific audiences.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and management for campaign efforts.
  • Meet or exceed set performance metrics consistently while managing stress effectively.
  • Develop a robust volunteer network and local knowledge for effective GOTV efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the county officials, candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Vice Chair.
  • Work with the Communications Director, Data Director, and other staff, committee chairs, and team leads as appropriate to implement organizational goals across the county.
  • Organize and gather volunteers for weekly events.
  • Collaborate with candidates, staff, and local parties for a unified campaign effort.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in political campaigns or community organizing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is necessary.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Driven to boost election turnout and impact the community positively.
  • Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship).
  • Full availability for the last two months before the Election is required.
  • Requires strong training abilities.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours (weekends and some nights, especially leading up to the election) is a must.
